Humility vs Narcissism

Humility versus Narcissism
Is social media the cause of the staggering rise of narcissism in our world or does it simply show us more of it?   Either way, we don’t have to emulate the narcissists around us.  We have the right to choose humility and in doing so, demonstrate the most effective kind of leadership in our workplace, in our community and in our home-life.

The gift of humility is something we give to ourselves and to those around us.

Being humble can also make us vulnerable and it turns out that the most empathetic and effective leaders are those who are willing to take that risk.  Showing vulnerability does not diminish the role of leadership.  Instead, it creates an environment of trust where others will be encouraged to take risks and learn from mistakes, thereby fostering a culture of trust, collaboration and connection.
