As we join people around the world cheering on the 2018 Winter Olympic athletes, we can’t help but admire the dedication and perseverance demonstrated by both competitors and their support teams. While the goalposts may look different, athletic and personal coaching are fundamentally about building confidence, one of the key factors in achieving success.
Coincidentally, Coach Mary Ann Tucker has been invited to speak about that very subject to help parents and students in a local dance school succeed in the upcoming competitions. The Coaching Lens brainstormed with Mary Ann, exploring coaching ideas about building confidence and examining the model “Performance = potential – interference” from Tim Gallwey’s classic book on coaching, “The Inner Game of Work”. From that swirl of ideas emerged three stories and their coaching insights that we hope you’ll enjoy along with your daily Olympics.
Warm Regards,
The Coaches at The Coaching Lens
