Keeping your faith in the journey…

We’ve all faced a time when everything seemed to be going deeply wrong.   Whether it’s at work, in our community, in our family or on a personal level, sometimes it’s difficult to keep any faith in where we’re going and how to get there.   The professional coaches at The Coaching Lens have all survived some of those frightening and trying times and they too struggled to keep that faith in themselves and their way forward.  Their experiences along with a belief in the underlying principles of coaching, give them some insights that they hope will be of support to others in tough times.

  1. Be comfortable living in the mystery – the future is unknowable until it happens.
  2. Believe that you are where you are supposed to be – even if it doesn’t feel like it.
  3. Find your gratitude – always be grateful.

Trying to find answers to everything can sap our energy for living.   Life is a mystery and our journey only unfolds with each step we take.  If we can find a way to be comfortable with the things that must remain a mystery and accept that we are where we are supposed to be, we can focus energy on the steps we need to take that will move us forward.  Reflecting on the things and relationships for which we are grateful helps to shed light on the path forward and on the support we can count on to help us move in that direction.
